The lowdown: This hugely popular series features a team of country doctors who work at The Beeches General Practice in the heart of the picturesque Peak District. Up to 12.5 million viewers became hooked on the medical challenges and emergencies they and their patients faced.
Memorable moments: Beth Glover (Amanda Burton) trying to save the life of an electrocuted boy in a field, and when Beth and fellow doctor Jack Kerruish (Kevin Whately) finally head towards the altar but there is a major difference of opinion between them.
Trivia: When Peak Practice ended in 2002 ITV received thousands of protests from fans who wanted one final episode. But ITV said that was it, and Peak Practice was replaced by the short-lived drama Sweet Medicine.

"Peak Practice means a lot to me. It was a chance to be in a wonderful country doctor series... we had a lot of people who’ve now gone on to do wonderful things like Samantha Morton, Minnie Driver and Bill Nighy"

"I did enjoy Peak Practice. It was my first ever acting job. I did three series as part of the family in the pub with Julia Howarth playing my sister - who is now Claire Peacock on Coronation Street"
